NJ Global Warming Response Act (80x50)
N.J.S.A. 26:2C-37 et seq.
The Global Warming Response Act establishes Statewide greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals, requiring emissions to be reduced to 1990 levels by January 1, 2020 and to 80 percent below 2006 levels by January 1, 2050 (the "80x50" goal). It directs the Department of Environmental Protection to establish a greenhouse gas emissions monitoring and reporting program, prepare biennial progress reports, and recommend the measures necessary to achieve the 2050 limit (the "80x50 Report").
