3 RCNY 113-01 (Certificates of Fitness and Certificates of Qualification)
FDNY Rule 3 RCNY 113-01 sets the general standards, application requirements, and procedures for the Certificates of Fitness and Certificates of Qualification that the Fire Code (FC 113) requires for individuals who perform regulated fire-safety duties, such as place of assembly safety personnel (e.g., F-03/F-04) and fire guards for torch operations (F-60). Applicants for an original certificate must obtain a passing score on the applicable FDNY examination, and certificates are issued to and valid only for a specific individual, who is generally required to renew every three years.
