3 RCNY 901-01 (Central Station Monitoring of Fire Alarm Systems)
FDNY Rule 3 RCNY 901-01 sets the standards, requirements, and procedures for the monitoring and related maintenance of fire alarm systems in New York City premises that transmit an alarm signal to a central station for re-transmitting or otherwise reporting fire alarms to the Department, and for the operation of those central stations. A central station company must obtain an FDNY certificate of operation before operating a central station or transmitting alarms to the Department, and an owner of a protected premises may not contract for monitoring with a central station company that lacks a valid certificate of operation.
