Office Sprinkler Retrofit (LL26/2004)
Local Law 26 of 2004 (amending NYC Administrative Code / NYC Building Code)
Local Law 26 of 2004 requires existing Occupancy Group E (office and similar commercial) high-rise buildings 100 feet or more in height to be retrofitted with a full automatic sprinkler system, with final compliance required by July 1, 2019. It also mandated a phased series of compliance/progress reports certified by a licensed architect or engineer (owner's affidavit, a 7-year report, a 14-year report, and a final certification of full compliance).
