1 RCNY § 101-06
Establishes the structure and registration requirements for special inspection agencies (classified into Class 1, 2, and 3) and the qualification requirements for the special inspectors they employ to perform or witness the special and progress inspections required by Chapter 17 of the NYC Building Code. The operations and documentation of special inspectors and agencies are subject to audit by the Department of Buildings at any time, and agencies must retain inspection records for at least six years. The rule was amended effective July 13, 2023 to align with the 2022 NYC Building Code adopted under Local Law 126 of 2021.
