Suffolk County Sanitary Code, Article 4 (Water Supply) (§§ 760-401 et seq.)

Suffolk County Department of Health Services regulation (Suffolk County Sanitary Code, Article 4) governing public and private/individual water supply systems. Private water systems must conform to Department-issued well standards and to minimum New York State requirements (10 NYCRR); the Department reviews water quality and will not approve a private well where parameters other than iron and manganese exceed maximum contaminant levels. No realty subdivision may be sold, leased, or developed without prior Department approval of its existing or proposed water supply.
