Governs occupational exposure to lead in construction work — including demolition, removal or encapsulation of lead-containing materials, renovation of structures containing lead, new construction, installation of lead-containing products, and lead cleanup operations. Sets a permissible exposure limit of 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air as an 8-hour time-weighted average and an action level of 30 micrograms per cubic meter (8-hour TWA), and requires exposure assessment, engineering and work-practice controls, respiratory protection, protective clothing, housekeeping, hygiene facilities, medical surveillance, and employee information and training.
