Age Discrimination Act (24 CFR Part 146)
24 CFR Part 146
HUD's regulation implementing the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 (42 U.S.C. 6101 et seq.), prohibiting any person from being excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination on the basis of age under any program or activity that receives Federal financial assistance from HUD. The rule (at 24 CFR 146.13) permits recipients to take age into account where the action reasonably takes age into account as a factor necessary to the normal operation or the achievement of a statutory objective of the program or activity, and (at 24 CFR 146.33) requires a complaint to be filed within 180 days of the complainant first having knowledge of the alleged discrimination, subject to a good-cause extension by HUD.
