Hazardous Waste Generators (Part 372)
6 NYCRR Part 372 (and Part 373); ECL Article 27, Title 9
6 NYCRR Part 372 is part of the DEC "Part 370 Series" (Parts 370-374, 376) implementing ECL Article 27, Title 9 — New York's EPA-authorized RCRA hazardous-waste program, which by ECL §27-0900 must be at least as stringent as federal RCRA Subtitle C and is in places more stringent. Part 372 establishes the hazardous-waste manifest system and related standards for generators, transporters and facilities, including generator standards (§372.2), EPA/DEC identification numbers, use of the manifest for offsite shipment, recordkeeping, and reporting; generators producing more than 1,000 kg of non-acute (or more than 1 kg of acute) hazardous waste in any calendar month must file an annual hazardous waste report. Hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facilities are separately permitted and regulated under Part 373 ("Hazardous Waste Management Facilities").
