Conn. Gen. Stat. § 20-427
Registered home improvement contractors must exhibit their certificate of registration on request and must state the fact of registration and their registration number in any advertisement (subsection (a)); subsection (b) enumerates prohibited acts (e.g., using another's or an expired/revoked certificate, falsely representing oneself as registered, or making home improvements without a current certificate), violations of which are a class B misdemeanor, escalating to a class A misdemeanor for operating without a current certificate where the home improvement's total cash price exceeds $10,000. Subsection (c) provides that a violation of any provision of the Home Improvement Act chapter (Chapter 400) is deemed an unfair or deceptive trade practice under subsection (a) of Conn. Gen. Stat. § 42-110b (CUTPA).
