Conn. Gen. Stat. § 20-312
No person may act as a real estate licensee (a licensed broker or salesperson) in Connecticut without a license issued by the Real Estate Commission or the Commissioner of Consumer Protection, unless exempt under Chapter 392. A business entity may engage in the real estate business only if it holds a real estate broker license and meets the chapter's qualifying conditions, including that one or more licensed (or exempt) real estate brokers own or control at least 51% of the entity. The Real Estate Commission may impose a fine of up to $5,000 per violation on any person engaging in the real estate business without the required license, and real estate teams must register with the Department of Consumer Protection.
