Regs. Conn. State Agencies § 29-291a-1 et seq. (2022 Connecticut State Fire Prevention Code, adopted under Conn. Gen. Stat. § 29-291a)
The Connecticut State Fire Prevention Code, adopted by the State Fire Marshal under the authority of Conn. Gen. Stat. § 29-291a and administered under Chapter 541 of the General Statutes, governs ongoing fire-prevention conditions in existing buildings and on premises, including storage and handling of flammable/combustible liquids, gases, and hazardous chemicals; permits; occupant-load limits; periodic fire-marshal inspections; and maintenance, servicing, and testing of fire-protection systems and safeguards. The 2022 edition consists of Connecticut amendments to NFPA 1 (2021 edition). It works alongside the Connecticut State Fire Safety Code and State Building Code rather than displacing them, and exempts detached one- and two-family dwellings and most townhouses.
