Conn. Gen. Stat. § 29-453
At the closing of a transaction involving real property containing a residential building designed to be occupied by one or two families, or a unit in a residential common interest community, the transferor must present the transferee a signed affidavit stating that the building or unit is equipped with smoke detection and warning equipment complying with the section, and with carbon monoxide detection and warning equipment complying with the section (or that it poses no carbon monoxide risk because it contains no fuel-burning appliance, fireplace, or attached garage). A 2023 revision (P.A. 23-164), effective October 1, 2023, eliminated the prior option for the transferor to credit the transferee $250 at closing in lieu of providing the affidavit.
