Uniform Fire Code (NJ)

N.J.A.C. 5:70

Title 5, Chapter 70 of the New Jersey Administrative Code is the Uniform Fire Code, adopted by the Department of Community Affairs under the authority of the Uniform Fire Safety Act (N.J.S.A. 52:27D-25d et seq.). At N.J.A.C. 5:70-3 it adopts by reference the International Code Council's 2018 International Fire Code as the State Fire Prevention Code, subject to New Jersey modifications set forth at N.J.A.C. 5:70-3.2. The chapter is organized into four subchapters covering general provisions, administration and enforcement, the State Fire Prevention Code, and the State Fire Safety Code (including registration, inspection, and permit requirements) statewide.
