UCC One- and Two-Family Dwelling Subcode (IRC/2021)

N.J.A.C. 5:23-3.21

Adopts the 2021 International Residential Code (IRC/2021), New Jersey edition, as the State's one- and two-family dwelling subcode under the Uniform Construction Code, subject to New Jersey-specific modifications. It applies to detached one- and two-family dwellings and townhouses not more than three stories above grade plane in height (with separate means of egress per unit) and their accessory structures, setting prescriptive construction and structural standards; plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and energy requirements are governed by New Jersey's separate subcodes (N.J.A.C. 5:23-3.15, -3.16, -3.20, and -3.18 respectively).
