UCC Energy Subcode (IECC/2021)

N.J.A.C. 5:23-3.18

Adopts the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC/2021) as New Jersey's energy subcode, with commercial buildings (all buildings other than low-rise residential) complying via ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2019 — the IECC commercial provisions are deleted in this section — and low-rise residential buildings (one- and two-family dwellings and multifamily of three stories or less) complying via the residential IECC/IRC energy provisions. Sets minimum energy-efficiency requirements for the building thermal envelope, mechanical systems, lighting, and service water heating in new construction and applicable alterations.
