UCC Building Subcode (IBC/2021)

N.J.A.C. 5:23-3.14

Adopts by reference the International Code Council's 2021 International Building Code (IBC/2021), with New Jersey-specific modifications, as the State's building subcode under the Uniform Construction Code. It governs the design and construction of buildings other than detached one- and two-family dwellings and townhouses within the scope of the residential subcode (N.J.A.C. 5:23-3.21) — including commercial and multi-family buildings — covering structural design, fire and smoke protection, means of egress, and accessibility (Barrier Free) requirements integrated into Chapter 11 of the IBC/2021.
