NYC Local Law 1 of 2004
Landlords of buildings built before 1960 (or 1960-1978 with known lead paint) with children under 6 must conduct annual lead paint inspection, remediate hazards, and file records. Civil penalties: $250-$1,500 per violation + up to $10,000 for egregious cases.
