R.C.S.A. §§ 19a-111-1 through 19a-111-11
Connecticut's Public Health Code lead regulations (R.C.S.A. §§ 19a-111-1 through 19a-111-11) require abatement of defective lead-based surfaces in dwelling units where a child (defined as a person under age six) resides, by removal, replacement, or encapsulation, and govern inspection, abatement plans, and management of intact surfaces containing toxic levels of lead. As part of an epidemiological investigation of a child's elevated blood lead level, the local director of health inspects the dwelling for toxic levels of lead, after which the owner must submit a written abatement plan (within 15 working days of notification of inspection results) and begin abatement (within 45 working days).
