Rego Park is a residential neighborhood in central Queens known for its large co-op buildings, Rego Center shopping complex, and diverse community including a significant Bukharian Jewish population. The neighborhood offers good transit access via the M and R trains and affordable housing by NYC standards.

Large co-op apartment buildings (many with hundreds of units), attached row houses, single-family homes, and newer condos. The co-op buildings along Queens Boulevard and Woodhaven Boulevard dominate the housing stock.

Row houses from the 1920s-1930s. Large co-op buildings from the 1940s-1960s. Some newer condo developments from the 2000s-2020s. The name "Rego" comes from the Real Good Construction Company.

Elevator violations in large co-op buildings, facade maintenance, fire safety compliance, HPD housing code violations, construction without permits for home renovations, and illegal conversion violations.

Moderate assessed values. Large co-ops in Tax Class 2 with capped assessments keeping taxes affordable. Row houses in Tax Class 1. The neighborhood offers relatively affordable ownership costs.

R4 and R5 on residential streets, R6 and R7 along the boulevards allowing larger buildings. C4 commercial on Queens and Woodhaven Boulevards. Some newer mixed-use development near transit.

Rego Center development brought new retail and residential. Ongoing co-op building renovations and maintenance are the primary building activity.
