N.Y. Public Health Law Article 13, Title X, §§ 1370 – 1377 (Control of Lead Poisoning)
Establishes New York's statewide lead poisoning prevention and control program and authorizes the Department of Health to promulgate regulations (10 NYCRR Part 67) governing blood-lead screening of children, reporting of results, and abatement of lead-poisoning conditions in dwellings (§§ 1370-a, 1370-c, 1373). Part P of Chapter 57 of the Laws of 2019 amended the § 1370 definition of "elevated lead levels" to a blood lead level greater than or equal to 5 micrograms per deciliter of whole blood (down from 10), and DOH conformed Part 67 to that threshold effective October 2019, triggering required diagnostic evaluation, follow-up, and environmental referral for affected children.
