Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan (CMP)

The Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan, adopted by the New Jersey Pinelands Commission under the Pinelands Protection Act (N.J.S.A. 13:18A-1 et seq.), governs the use and development of land within the State-designated Pinelands Area, which covers all or part of roughly 53 municipalities across seven southern New Jersey counties. It sets minimum land-use standards by management area, requires certification that county and municipal master plans and land use ordinances conform to the Plan, and imposes a development review process for projects within the Pinelands Area.
