N.J.S.A. 10:5-12 (NJ Law Against Discrimination)
NJ Law Against Discrimination prohibits housing discrimination based on lawful source of income — including Section 8 / HCV vouchers, SSI, SSDI, alimony, and child support. Property owners and brokers cannot refuse to rent, set different terms, or advertise restrictions based on voucher status. Enforced by NJ Division on Civil Rights with civil penalties up to $50,000 for repeat violations.
